Erin partners with schools, districts, and organizations to support educator well-being, confidence, and long-term sustainability so teachers can thrive in and out of the classroom. She also speaks on student mental health and helping educators navigate today’s challenges of social connection and resilence.

Parents who work in education often carry two full-time roles: supporting students all day and caring for their own families at home. Over time, this constant giving creates a burnout loop: pushing through exhaustion, feeling guilty for being depleted, and continuing to overextend because it feels like the only option.
In this session, participants will learn how to break that loop through three key shifts: awareness, interruption, and identity. Attendees will hear insights and real-world reflections from, Erin Shook, a veteran educator and mom of four who has lived this cycle firsthand and supports other educator parents in creating more sustainable ways to work and live.

This is a 6-week group coaching program with weekly 1-hour live coaching sessions, ongoing group community support, and lifetime access to all recordings and resources. The program is designed to stay personal and supportive as you work through real-life challenges in teaching and motherhood. The program is led by a veteran teacher and mom of four who understands what it takes to navigate both roles and build more confidence, clarity, and sustainability along the way.

Let’s face it– your own school experience is not your current student’s experience. Social media has dramatically changed the middle school & high school landscape, leaving many students feeling anxious, lonely, and misunderstood. The good news–this narrative can be changed! Join Erin Shook, Psychology teacher at Freeburg High School, in examining research from the “The Anxious Generation,” neuroscience, Positive Psychology, and mental health trends to educate teachers and provide tools to empower students in the classroom.

Bettering the Burg is a student-focused mental health and well-being event. The day brings together guest speakers and a variety of breakout sessions that students can choose from, all centered on topics like mental health, resilience, connection, and personal growth. It’s designed to give students space to learn, reflect, and build practical tools to support their well-being both in and out of school.
